Monday Morning Centerback: EPL Week 19

Wow. What a week in the Premier League. A full Sunday slate of games with a small side of matches today to wrap up the match week. We are officially halfway through the season and the teams are beginning to separate themselves from the fakes. As always gentlemen, this is a recap of the match week and my thoughts on what teams should be doing to improve and weed out who should throw in the towel. Follow me.

Leicester City- 0 v Manchester City- 2

It is about time. Manchester City have finally won a Premier League game. It feels like it has been six months since I’ve tasted victory. How I’ve missed it. But then again, these are the teams that you’re supposed to beat. To be fair to the foxes, Leicester put up a good fight. They dominated City when it came to possession, but doing that wasn’t enough. They had the shots and shots on goal, but they lacked finishing yet again. I’ve said it before, 37 year old Jamie Vardy is not the same Jamie Vardy. Leicester need to go out in this upcoming window and find a young, talented striker to start bagging some goals if Leicester want to stay up in the league next season. They sit in 18th place, just two points away from safety and these January fixtures that they have coming are going to demand more of an attacking threat from the foxes. Go get a striker please, you have to jump Wolves. City’s season starts in January, I’ve always said this.

Everton- 0 v Nottingham Forest- 2

Everton Football club continue to be one of the most unserious clubs in England. They are a club with such rich history in the Premier League. I mean they have never been relegated from the Premier League since its beginning in 1992. For some reason, they continue to accept mediocracy and it is very hard to see. I have no ill will towards this club and I see them as an institution in this league. For god’s sake man, wake up. Revamp your attack and solidify your midfield with some ball-winning players and guys that have the ability to release the forwards into the final third. Sean Dyche can have any man play defense so that part I’m not concerned about. Forest were just more clinical in front of the net, and that’s why they claimed all three points to move into 2nd in the table. Shocking. Gross if I might add.

Tottenham- 2 v Wolves- 2

My god man. A missed penalty against the worst club in the league may just be the nail in the coffin for Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. Spurs did go up 2-1 right after the missed penalty from Son but they still ended up gifting Wolves the equalizer in the 87th minute. I can’t say that I am shocked but this has to be it. Spurs are 7-3-9 through 19 and they sit in 11th. I don’t know what they need to save them. Son can’t play every position but if he could, I bet they’d be higher in the table. Get my man some help. I am not going to offer my services for Wolves but I just want them to throw in the towel and sell Cunha to Manchester City. Thanks! Smell ya in the Championship next season, losers.

West Ham- 0 v Liverpool- 5

What do you want me to say? Look at us, we’re Liverpool! We have guys all over the pitch that score regularly and we have the best defensive players in the league. Get lost man. West Ham didn’t even have a shot on target. For the full 90. Im not an expert but I think it’s pretty hard to win games if you can’t put it on net. Their lineup is a disaster and there is no help in sight. For the love of god man, you can’t win games with 50 year old Danny Ings and buddy that looks 50 Niclas Fullkrug playing in front of Kudus and Paqueta. Please go get Jonathan David from Lille. That’s all I have to say. Someone catch Liverpool slipping.

There are some good games on today at 2:45pm and 3:00pm EST and I will have a play for each that I will be posting on X. So give me a follow or you love Southampton. Thanks.
