EPL Unfiltered: Week 21
We are back gentlemen. The Premier League is finally back after a week of cup fixtures. But it wasn’t a waste of a week. We found out who are pretending to be real title contenders and who are for real. There are some teams out there just simply for the vibes. They know who they are. Some real shocking results in the FA Cup if I am being honest. United making Arsenal even more of the league laughing stock, Brentford absolutely embarrassing their own fans after a loss to Plymouth Argyle, and City, Villa and Newcastle handling business in their own matches. All of this leading up to a packed week with matches on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And then again on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Let’s get started. But first, James McAtee is better than Marcus Rashford. Now go.

Brentford v Manchester City – 2:30pm EST
What did I tell you? What did I tell you? Manchester City’s season starts in January. I said don’t let us get to January still in this fight. And here we are. 12 points off the top but Liverpool have a game in hand. Don’t tell me it is impossible. They also said City would never win the league and here we are. City just put eight past Salford City in the FA Cup in front of probably 5,000 Manchester United fans that were there for a hate watch. Can you imagine how sad that is? Paying money to watch your rival absolutely dismantle a club owned by Manchester United “legends” and then have to go home after and live with yourself. Wanker behavior if you ask me. Brentford somehow lost last week to Plymouth Argyle, a team that the mighty Wayne Rooney managed to tank from a mid table side to a team fighting relegation in the championship. Dead last I might add. No chance they show up for this game. City by a billion.
Chelsea v Bournemouth – 2:30pm EST
This match may be the hardest game to break down. Chelsea are in a bit of a slump at the moment. They drew to Palace in their last match, which made them winless in their last four. So I think the season may be wearing on them now that we are halfway through. But who knows. Me. That’s who. Bournemouth always come put against Chelsea no matter what. Bournemouth seem to be that lower tier side that see, to have Chelsea’s number. If you remember a couple of years ago, Stoke City used to always come out and just absolutely give it to Chelsea back when they had Mourinho and that was fun. Apparently that role has been passed down to the Cherries. I love it. I can see either side coming out on top. Where are you Cole Palmer? The only thing that bothers me is that Bournemouth’s strikers are both hurt and are not going to be playing so. Do with that what you will.
Nottingham Forest v Liverpool – 3:00pm EST

Now, if you remember, Forest actually beat Liverpool back in September 1-0. At the time, it was a very shocking result. Liverpool had just won their 5th in a row and they were flying. And then here comes in Forest, at Anfield, and beat them. And shut them out on top of it. Amazing. It will be very different this time. I hope it’s not. There are some Liverpool fans that I know that truly deserve the worst. And I think that is yet to come. This could be the best match of the day. Just get the ball to Chris Wood and the goals will come. Hey Liverpool fans, your savior is leaving in June and then you’ll be back to mediocrity. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Everton v Aston Villa – 2:30pm EST
Wow. Alright, Sean Dyche is out as the Everton manager. Shocking. The last manager probably in the country to play some proper Brexit and defending football. Moment of silence please. But, in good old Everton fashion, they follow up the Dyche era with some boring David Moyes. The man who once was with the club has come back to save this relegation-battling side. He hopes. Moyes had some decent years while he was the manager for West Ham United. But that’s in the past. Everton are a half-functioning dumpster fire. Currently it is January 13th and this club has yet to make a move in this transfer window. How do they expect to compete? They certainly will not in this match. Villa will dominate possession and bang in a couple in the process. Please do something @Everton.
Newcastle United v Wolverhampton – 2:30pm EST
Newcastle and their main man Isak are still absolutely flying. I would love nothing more than for Newcastle to just curb stomp this sorry Wolves side. Honestly, I think their fans may enjoy it. They may even welcome it. If Wolves were competitive in this league, I would root for them in this match. But they’re not, so I’m not. Whoops. Enjoy this spanking that’s coming for you Wolverhampton.
Arsenal v Tottenham – 3:00pm EST
Boy oh boy. It’s a mid off ladies sand gentlemen! Which team can embarrass their fanbase less? A true successful hate watch for this game would be for Spurs to absolutely bend Arsenal over and ram them in their own backyard. But it wont be that simple. Aura FC will probably come out and attempt to dominate possession and create corner chances. Aura FC, Corner FC, I don’t care. I am not moved by this edition of Arteta terrorist style of football. I truly think that this is his last season if he does not win a trophy this season. This will be high scoring. Spurs have no defense, Arsenal have no attack. Let the chaos begin please.
There are two more games being played on Thursday but they are a couple of stinkers so I am not going to waste my time with them. Get over it.
