EPL Unfiltered: Week 26

EPL Unfiltered: Week 26

I am so sick and tired of all of these trolls online that are disrespecting the most decorated English player to grace the earth. All of this Phil Foden slander on the timeline is enough. I am sick of it. And a majority of it is coming from people that cheer him on when he’s in an England kit. Fakes. Jokes. Unworthy. Seven Saturday matches, two Sunday matches and then we’re right back in on some midweek fixtures for week 27. Follow me.

Everton v. Manchester United | 7:30am EST

It’s the battle of the brains early Saturday morning. Everton Football Club and Manchester United. How thrilling. These two teams sit in 14th and 15th in the table, only being separated by one point. Very shocking. Everton have been flirting with relegation now for what feels like five years at this point. And it looked like they were headed that way again. Until David Moyes came along. The new manager has Everton thriving again. They are 4-1-0 in their last five and they are finally beating the teams that they’re supposed to beat. Spurs, Brighton, Leicester and last weekend, Crystal Palace. I saw some reports that United have been throwing around the idea of possibly sacking Amorim. Am I surprised? No. This guy stinks. Plain and simple. Players stink, coach stinks, logo stinks and their stadium stinks. I’m backing my fellow blues.

Ipswich Town v. Tottenham Hotspur | 10:00am EST

Ipswich Town look competent challenge: Level Spurs. Wouldn’t it be so Spurs if they lost this match?

Arsenal v. West Ham United | 10:00am EST

What a surprising season West Ham put out here so far, huh? These guys are absolutely lost. 1-1-3 in their last five and Graham Potter is cooking! That guy may actually be a great con man. He had one good season for Brighton, got the Chelsea job, and then immediately got fired. Now he’s found himself with 16th place West Ham and there truly is no hope in sight. It’s such a shame because they have a decent squad all together but something isn’t clicking. Didn’t click with the last guy and it is definitely not clicking now. I think they are probably safe from relegation with how awful Wolves and Ipswich are. One thing is for certain, Arsenal are going to pump these guys. They have no attack so they’ll be defensive and wont let West Ham hit on a counter and just pass the Hammers to death. Simple as that. 2-0 Arsenal.

Bournemouth v. Wolverhampton | 10:00am EST

Since Liverpool couldn’t give the people what they wanted last week and just pummel Wolves into the ground, I will have to solicit a real and proper football club to do our dirty work. I know Bournemouth have it in them. When these teams played in November, the Cherries beat Wolves 4-2. Bournemouth are averaging just under 12 shots per game and with Wolves piss poor defense, they will surely clear that mark in this one. I am expecting at least 20 shot attempts for Bournemouth. The Cherries took care of business last week against rock bottom Southampton and they are looking to use this week as a boost to get themselves into the top four. Bournemouth are 12-7-6 on the season and Wolves are 5-4-16. These two teams couldn’t be headed in two completely different directions if they tried. One is pushing for European football next year and the other is destined to be reunited with the second tier of British football again. And when that happens for Wolves, I will celebrate with the tears of Wolves fans in my glass as I sit back and troll all of them on X. It will be beautiful. I’m rooting for you Bournemouth. 5-0 minimum.

Aston Villa v. Chelsea | 12:30pm EST

I would probably rather watch paint dry than be force to watch this match. This one right here is the biggest battle of the mids since last weekend’s Spurs against United. These two teams had such high expectations this season given the strength of their squads and how they preformed last season. Chelsea especially with how much money they spent on new players to be ready for this season. Aston Villa have found themselves on the permanently banned list on my book for what they pulled last weekend against Ipswich Town. So, we will not be betting on Villa again until next season. Chelsea sit in 6th place and Villa are in 9th. Knowing these two teams so far this season, this game will finish 2-2 probably. I really don’t know man. Just take the over and not even watch this match. Also, for what Chelsea did to Trevor Chalobah this season they will forever be on the hate list. I hope they tie. They deserve it.

Newcastle United v. Nottingham Forest | 9:00am EST

Newcastle need this game so bad. They need it way more than Forest do. Let’s all be honest with ourselves, Forest cannot win the league. The league will not let that happen. So, Newcastle will be fighting hard in this one. Both teams lost last weekend and will be desperate for the three points. But Newcastle got embarrassed by Manchester City, 4-0. So they will have a little chip on their shoulders. I also think that Newcastle’s team is built stronger than Forest’s when it comes to season longevity. When these two played previously, Newcastle went on to win that one 3-1. And I think the same outcome will be true again. Newcastle are on the outside of that top four that their season long goal was. They will need some help elsewhere to get there and I think that charge begins now for the Magpies. 12-5-8 on the season and some would say that they have taken a step back without European football. This could probably be the last season at Newcastle for Eddie Howe if they fail to qualify for the Champions league. I could see this one be very high scoring, like 5-6 goals. And I would definitely give Newcastle the edge here. Plus Forest’s defense is still garbage. Go Chris Wood.

Manchester City v. Liverpool | 11:30am EST

I hope and pray that Liverpool do not let us win this game.
