EPL Unfiltered: Week 33
What did I say? What did I tell you all last week when I sat here at my desk and told you what City will do to Crystal Palace? A spanking. One way traffic the entire game. Yes, Palace were up 2-0 at one point but that is not relevant. The boys in blue ripped off five straight goals to cap off a beautiful overs bettors dream. Everton did the boys a favor and beat Forest, which I was maybe on my hands and knees for but. Thank you, Brentford! We go again.

Everton v. Manchester City | 10:00am EST
Hello, Mr. Moyes! It is me again my friend. Would you be so kind enough again this week and deliver us just one more favor? This is the last one for the season. You have my word. I know that we are already technically in a champions league position in the table but I would like just a bit of room to breathe for the remainder of the season. You know? You guys are more than safe from the relegation, thanks to you, Mr. Moyes. If all goes accordingly, City should cruise through this one on the road. Probably around 3-1. This will be a good little friendly match for the boys to get some reps in. From third to seventh, the teams that occupy those spots are separated by five points. With a win, City will move into sole position of 4th and it’ll be more likely that they will return to the champions league next season.
Crystal Palace v. Bournemouth | 10:00am EST
I honestly have no intention of watching this game. I just wanted to say that I told all of you that Bournemouth’s downfall was going to come eventually and of course, I was correct. The downfall started at the end of February. I would not be totally surprised if Palace took this one at home. With a win, Palace could leapfrog Brentford, granted Brentford do not win, and just be two points off of Brighton, Fulham and Bournemouth. But not taking each result into consideration. We will see. Bournemouth have been slumping and I am not expecting anything to change. Palace play really well at home and I think they will bring the heat to the Cherries after blowing a two goal lead last weekend to City. Eze masterclass is in the future.
Aston Villa v. Newcastle United | 12:30pm EST
Here it is. The main entree for the evening. The schedule makers blessed us with the battle of almost good on this fine Saturday before Easter. Both of these teams probably deserve to be in European football next season but the space is limited. Since, Arsenal made it to the quarterfinals in the champions league this season, 5th place is now awarded a spot in next year’s Champions league. Newcastle are firmly sitting in 3rd place at the moment and are looking more likely to challenge Arsenal for 2nd place. Forest are falling off and Newcastle are on a mission these last few weeks and they will be walking in this Saturday with their heads held high as the better team. Villa on the other hand, just got knocked out of the champions league this week by PSG but it wasn’t without a fight. Marcus Rashford and Morgan Rogers look pretty good right now and the Villa side looks like they are ready to really ramp it up this last stretch of the season and contend for Europe. And if they are going to do so, now is where they really can’t drop any points. Let’s just take the over and sit back to watch some fire works.

Ipswich Town v. Arsenal | 9:00am EST
Ipswich Town try to look competent challenge level: Champions league semifinalists, Arsenal. Maybe the boys in blue could catch these Arsenal boys lacking a little bit from their midweek win against Real Madrid? I doubt it. Arsenal cruise.
Fulham v. Chelsea | 9:00am EST
The time has come for Fulham to show Chelsea what a real team from London looks like. Fulham has been flying under the radar all season long. Fulham are currently level on points with 8th place Bournemouth and have the opportunity to close the gap on 6th and 7th place Chelsea and Villa, who are both on 54 points and could both lose this weekend. Something to mention: Fulham are 7-5-4 at home this season. Chelsea have only two wins since March until now. If Chelsea is going to be serious about more European football next season, why must start acting like a big six club and start consistently winning. It’s simple. Also, what the hell has happened to Cole Palmer? Surely he has been hurt. I really do not know what has happened to him. But I am not complaining since City is in a race against them. I am all for Fulham. I’m on them. Coldest team in London. We ride.
Leicester City v. Liverpool | 11:30am EST
Good luck scoring this week, Leicester.
