PGA Championship 2025: Preview & Picks for Degenerates

The 107th PGA Championship, set for May 15-18, 2025, at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, promises to be an exciting showdown. This par-71 course, stretching to 7,623 yards, is a bomber’s paradise with thick Bermuda rough, firm greens, and five par-4s over 480 yards. Known for hosting the Truist Championship and the 2017 PGA Championship (won by Justin Thomas), Quail Hollow demands precision and length off the tee, favoring players with strong driving and approach games.

Location: Quail Hollow Club – Charlotte, North Carolina

Course Challenges

Quail Hollow’s length, narrow fairways, and undulating greens test every facet of a player’s game. The 17th and 18th holes, part of the “Green Mile,” are among the toughest closing stretches in golf, promising late drama. In 2017, the course played to a +2.09 scoring average, tougher than recent Truist stops.

Field and Format

The 156-player field includes 99 of the top 100 in the world, 29 major champions, and 20 PGA professionals, like fan-favorite Michael Block. The top 70 and ties make the cut after 36 holes.

How to Watch

Coverage airs on ESPN+ (early rounds, featured groups), ESPN (Thursday/Friday, 12-7 p.m. ET), and CBS (Saturday/Sunday, primary broadcasts). Stream via ESPN+ and Paramount+.

Staff Picks (Gambling)

*Outright Winners*

JIGO’s Outright Winners:

  • Scottie Scheffler (+425) 2u

Last tournament Scottie played in he absolutely dominated going 31 under. I am a massive Scottie fan and will always bet him to win every major. Even if he doesn’t win he will be in the hunt on Sunday and that’s for damn sure, sprinkle Top 5 finish -110 for basically money back.

  • Rory McIlroy (+500) 1u

Rory finally got the monkey off his back with his Masters win and completing the career grand slam. He has won the Players, and the Masters as well as another win on tour this year. Arguably the hottest golfer in the world right now (still not the #1 thanks to my boy Scottie), it would be stupid not to sprinkle Rory to win at +500. Plus Rory has won at Quail Hollow 4 times in his career.

Emperor’s Outright Winners:

  • Bryson DeChambeau (+1200) .66u

Amazing track record at Quail Hollow and coming off a brutal Masters finish where he was so close to obtain the green jacket. This course is a bombers delight. Give me Bryson at +1200!

  • Tommy Fleetwood (+5310) .5u

Fleetwood has performed well at this course in the past and I expect nothing less from here this weekend. I expect to see him on the leaderboard throughout the weekend. I’m putting a .5u on him where he has worse odds than Rahm just because I’m more confident in Tommy here.

  • Jon Rahm (+1900) .33u

Just a gut feeling .33u sprinkle. If I had to put all four of my outrights in order, Rahm probably would be last. And yes, I’d put him behind my last outright pick below which will shock you.

Not to much of a fan of his history at this course however, I am buying into the notion that we may be getting Rambo back. He’s lighting it up on the LIV Tour and showed some signs of his old self this past Masters. Total feeling bet, don’t tail!

  • Rickie Fowler (+20000) .33u

Yes, I believe in Rickie. He’s won at this course before and he tends to pop off during the PGA Championship. I believe Rickie can get his first major this weekend. I mean he is due.

*Top 10 Picks*

JIGO’s Top 10 Picks:

  • Shane Lowry Top 10 (+350) 1u

Playing really well right now, and plays really well in majors.

  • Sepp Straka Top 10 (+400) 1u

Just won the Truist last week and has played historically well at Quail Hollow winning in 2025.

  • Max Homa Top 10 (+900) 1u

Has won at Quail two times before, making the cut at the masters as well. Homa will perform well this week.

Emperor’s Top 10 Picks:

  • Xander Schauffele Top 10 (+200) 1u

Maybe the best golfer when it comes to Majors at the moment. Proven track record at this course makes him a lovely play at +200 here.

  • Tommy Fleetwood Top 10 (+300) 1u

Great track record at this course, it’s time for Tommy to snag a major, hence the outright bet!

*Top 20 Picks*

Emperor’s Top 20 Picks:

  • Rickie Fowler Top 20 (+400) 1u

Great history at this course means good vibes for Rickie. I’m loving this play.

Berg’s Top 20 Picks:

  • Dan Berger Top 20 (+286) 1u

Daniel Berger is a machine. Coming off an 11th-place finish in the Truist last weekend, he looks to stay in good form. It feels like he finds his way in the top 20 every tournament at this point. I would take him +286 any day.

*To Make The Cut*

JIGO’s To Make Cut Picks:

  • Max Homa (-130) 2u

Plays well at Quail Hollow, this is basically free money.

  • Phil Mickelson (-115) 1u

Fun to root for.

  • Michael Block (+310) 1u

BLOCK PARTY BABY!

Emperor’s To Make The Cut Picks

  • To Make Cut Parlay (+1901) 2u
    • Scottie Scheffler
    • Rory Mcllroy
    • Jon Rahm
    • Xander Schauffele
    • Collin Morikawa
    • Ludvig Aberg
    • Tommy Fleetwood
    • Joaquin Niemann
    • Sepp Straka
    • Brooks Koepka
    • Maverick McNealy
    • Rickie Fowler

Only one Cut play and it’s this 2-unit missile play. Go big or go home. Let’s enter the weekend with a nice stack of cash.
